History of Little Hills
A Family Tree...
Little Hills Tree Farm was established in the Fall of 1985. At that time, the farm housed more than a dozen chicken barns, as it had once been a poultry ranch. We knew we had a lot of work ahead of us to transform the ranch into a Christmas tree farm |

A Great Family Outing
Each year, 35 million American families bring a real Christmas tree into their homes to become a warm and glowing part of their holiday celebration. History records this tradition as far back as 1640, when Christmas trees were used in Germany. A century later, the tradition continued in this country.
Although the days of heading to the nearest woods to chop down a fresh tree are long past, you can relive this wonderful tradition at Little Hills Christmas Tree Farm, where you choose and cut your own special tree.
Year after year, families and friends come out to the farm for fun, freshness and great selection. Choosing and cutting a fresh tree engages not only your sense of sight, touch and smell but also a sense of family, spirit and tradition.
We hope you will visit our farm this year and start, or continue, a wonderful family tradition.

Beginning in 1986, seedlings were planted and the old chicken barns began to come down. A lot of the lumber, roofing and windows from the old barns were recycled into a new, 3,600 square foot sales barn, built in 1988.
With the help and advice of Carol's parents (who have been in the Christmas tree business for more than 35 years), and a lot of hard work, the Christmas tree farm was opened to the public in December, 1988.
Growing the trees and maintaining the farm is year round work. Kriss plants the trees, tends to the weeding and the many general repairs of the farm. He also takes great pride in spending time hand shaping each tree to perfection.
During the Christmas season we work daily at the farm. We always enjoy this time of year, even though the hours are long. The people who come out to the farm have a great time and we are happy to see them. To chose and cut your own tree is a wonderful opportunity to spend some quality time with your family and friends in the fresh country air while experiencing the fun of an old fashioned country Christmas.
